Retix.C Smart DNA Therapy, antioxidant treatment protocol
Smart DNA Therapy is a two-stage antioxidant protocol: a peel with ferulic acid and peptides, followed by a sterile peptide cocktail administered during microneedling.
Unlike Retix.C Classic and Retibooster, it is not based on a high concentration of retinol. Below: composition, process, prices, course and what "DNA protection" really means.
Where skin oxidative stress begins
The skin is exposed daily to UV, pollution and high temperatures. The reactive oxygen species produced are a normal part of metabolism, but their excess increases oxidative stress, which over time contributes to photoageing, uneven skin tone and loss of elasticity.
Important from the start: a single antioxidant treatment will not stop skin ageing and will not replace photoprotection. The most effective prevention remains limiting UV exposure and daily sun protection.
How Smart DNA Therapy works, two stages
Stage 1: Smart DNA AOX Peel. A peel based on ferulic acid, peptide promoters and TGF-β2, applied in layers with controlled contact time. It prepares the stratum corneum and has an antioxidant effect.
Stage 2: peptide cocktail and microneedling. A sterile cocktail with peptides, ferulic acid and hyaluronic acid, administered during microneedling. Needle depth, number of passes and the treatment area are selected individually at the qualification, not from the manufacturer's settings.
The treatment on video
The recording shows the successive stages of the protocol being applied to facial skin. We mute the sound; the version with commentary is on Instagram.
The video reflects the process only. The result depends on the condition of the skin and on regularity, so we usually carry it out as a series.
Which skin types Smart DNA is considered for
- skin with signs of photoageing and loss of elasticity
- uneven skin tone and a dull appearance
- fine superficial wrinkles
- skin with a weakened barrier, once acute irritation has settled
- people looking for a treatment that is more antioxidant than retinol based
"For sensitive skin" does not mean "for actively irritated, stinging skin." Sensitivity as a trait is different from acute inflammation. In that case, we first rebuild the skin's tolerance.
How much Smart DNA costs
In the price list, Smart DNA appears in three variants, which differ in the intensity of microneedling:
| Variant | Single treatment | Package of three |
|---|---|---|
| The treatment alone (AOX peel) | 400 PLN | 1050 PLN |
| With microneedling | 550 PLN | 1500 PLN |
| With microneedle mesotherapy | 750 PLN | 2100 PLN |
The variant is selected by the cosmetologist during the assessment. The price list is for information only and does not constitute an offer within the meaning of Article 66 § 1 of the Civil Code.
How many treatments and at what intervals
The manufacturer describes a course of 3 treatments every 10 to 14 days, so the full therapy takes around 20 to 28 days. The interval can be extended if the skin regenerates more slowly. This is a starting point from the qualification, not a promised number.
What "DNA protection and repair" means, without the marketing shorthand
UV can damage the genetic material of skin cells; cells have their own repair mechanisms. Antioxidants can reduce part of the oxidative stress.
We are stating this precisely. The manufacturer reports the results of ex vivo studies on skin explants regarding markers of DNA protection and repair. This is a valuable stage of mechanistic research, but it is not proof that, after one treatment, a patient's "skin DNA is repaired by 52 percent." That is why we talk about supporting cell protection against oxidative stress, not about guaranteed DNA repair.
Contraindications
- active skin infections in the treatment area
- active herpes
- intense inflammation, damaged skin barrier, fresh irritation after another procedure
- hypersensitivity to the product's ingredients
- contraindications to microneedling, including selected clotting disorders
- a tendency towards abnormal scarring, which requires individual assessment
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: a separate qualification depending on the full composition of the products. Where there is insufficient data, the precautionary principle applies and the treatment is postponed.
The questions we are asked most often
Does Smart DNA contain retinol?
Not as the main element. The protocol is based on ferulic acid, peptides, TGF-β2 and microneedling. 4 percent retinol is used in Retix.C Classic and Retibooster.
Does the treatment really "repair DNA"?
The manufacturer has in vitro and ex vivo data on markers of DNA protection and repair. More precisely, the treatment supports cell protection against oxidative stress. We do not promise DNA repair after the treatment.
Will it replace sunscreen?
No. Antioxidants do not replace photoprotection. SPF 50+ sunscreen remains the most important protection against photoageing.
How many treatments are done in a course?
The manufacturer describes a course of 3 treatments every 10 to 14 days, so the full therapy takes around 20 to 28 days. The final schedule is set by the cosmetologist after assessing the skin.
Does the skin peel after the treatment?
Mild flaking is possible after the peel stage. After microneedling, transient redness and a feeling of warmth are more common.
