Terms for ear piercing in children
Rules that apply to this treatment at NL Clinic. You will find a description of the treatment itself, preparation and aftercare on the ear piercing page.
Child's age
We only carry out this treatment for children who have turned four years old.
Right to refuse to carry out the treatment
The person carrying out the treatment has the right to refuse it if:
- the child is visibly anxious or crying,
- the child says they do not want the treatment,
- the parent or guardian puts pressure on the child or tries to force consent.
In such situations we are guided by the child's wellbeing and emotional comfort, and by the principles of professional ethics.
Procedure
We pierce the ears one at a time: first one, then the other. This allows the earrings to be positioned precisely and symmetrically, and keeps full control over the treatment.
Pausing and completing the treatment
If the child does not want to continue after one ear has been pierced, the appointment can be postponed and the treatment completed later.
- Deadline for completionup to 7 days from the first piercing
- After this timea repeat piercing is a new service, charged according to the price list
Aftercare
The clinic is not responsible for the piercings closing up if the aftercare instructions were not followed. If the piercings have closed and the parent wants the ears pierced again, we carry out the treatment for a fee, according to the current price list. We provide the instructions after the treatment and describe them on the treatment page.
Appointment time
A standard appointment takes up to 30 minutes. If the treatment runs significantly over time, the clinic reserves the right to charge an additional fee of 100 PLN.
In our experience, the best time to pierce a child's ears is when the child expresses this wish themselves. The treatment then goes more calmly, with greater understanding and comfort, for both the child and the parent.
