Liposuction is a treatment in which tissue is removed, so it carries a certain level of risk and must be performed by a doctor qualified for this type of procedure.

Worth knowing at the start
Liposuction contours the body, it does not cause weight loss. It removes localised fat accumulation where it does not respond to exercise and diet, but it does not replace weight reduction. It makes sense for someone with a stable body weight.
The syringe technique
We work with the syringe technique. The difference compared with machine liposuction is simple: instead of a suction device, the doctor uses a manual syringe to aspirate the fat tissue.
Manual aspiration
Instead of machine suction the doctor uses a syringe to draw off the fat tissue. Without electrically powered devices.
Gentleness towards the tissue
The technique handles the tissue more gently than machine methods, which translates into less bruising and a shorter healing time.
Control over the amount
Manual aspiration gives the doctor greater control over how much tissue is removed, which matters when working on the contour of the body.
Thin cannula
Aspiration uses a thin cannula with a bevelled, blunt tip, which the doctor uses to draw off excess tissue, maintaining control over the entire treatment area.
The incisions through which the cannula is inserted are made in natural skin folds, so the marks left after the treatment remain barely visible.
Body areas
The treatment covers areas where fatty tissue accumulates locally and resists slimming. The doctor determines the scope at the consultation, depending on your body shape and the distribution of tissue.
What the treatment looks like
The treatment is carried out under local anaesthesia. The doctor works with a thin cannula, drawing off excess tissue while maintaining control over the entire treatment area.
In a single treatment, several areas can be worked on, chosen to improve body proportions rather than simply remove fat from one place.
With local anaesthesia, and that is how we work at the clinic, you can leave the same day. This is what sets this treatment apart from liposuction carried out under general anaesthesia.
How much tissue can be removed
During a single treatment, up to 4 litres of fatty tissue can be removed.
This is an upper limit related to the safety of the treatment, not a goal in itself. The doctor adjusts the amount of tissue removed to your body shape and the expected contour, not to a number on the scales. Liposuction remains a way of shaping the body, not a method of reducing body weight.
Indications
The treatment is considered for people with a local excess of fatty tissue who lead a healthy lifestyle yet still cannot get rid of fat from a specific area. Whether liposuction alone is enough also depends on the condition of the skin, which the doctor assesses before the treatment.
Healing and compression garments
This is the most important practical information about this treatment, as it affects the choice of timing and what to expect in the first weeks.
During the first two weeks, the swelling is so pronounced that the treated area may seem larger than before the treatment. This is an expected stage of healing. Without knowing this, it is easy to mistake swelling for a lack of effect. Compression garments are worn according to the doctor's instructions, as they support healing and limit swelling.
Results and when they are visible
The contour begins to show as the swelling subsides, in the weeks following the treatment. The full effect is assessed after about three months.
The treatment reduces the volume of fatty tissue in the area and improves body proportions. It does not, however, change the tension or quality of the skin, which is why for some patients the plan also includes skin-tightening treatments.
It can be combined with other aesthetic medicine procedures. The doctor chooses the methods and the order individually at the consultation before the treatment.
Whether the result lasts
The fat cells that are removed do not re-form in the same place, but that does not mean the area is secured for good.
With significant weight gain, the remaining fat cells can enlarge. The durability of the result therefore depends on maintaining your body weight, not only on the treatment itself.
The practical conclusion: the treatment makes sense for someone whose body weight is stable. If you are planning to lose weight, it is more sensible to have it afterwards.
When the treatment needs something added
The question about loose skin after the treatment comes back at almost every consultation. The risk concerns cases of a very large build-up of fat tissue, where the skin has been stretched for a long time.
The doctor assesses this before the treatment and then explains clearly what effect liposuction alone will give, and what requires additional treatments: those that tighten and condition the skin, for example thermal lifting, laser treatments or tissue-stimulating methods. With a moderate excess of tissue, the skin usually adapts to the new contour.
Contraindications
Smoking does not rule out the treatment, but it raises the risk of complications and it is worth knowing that before deciding. Before the treatment tell the doctor about all your conditions and the medicines you take.
The treatment on video
A recording from the clinic will show the cannula technique and how the compression garment is fitted.
We publish photos of results only with patients’ consent and under comparable conditions: the same framing, light, facial expression and time interval. The result is always individual.
The questions we are asked most often
Is body liposuction a method of weight loss?
No. Liposuction shapes the body by removing local accumulations of fatty tissue rather than reducing body weight. It makes sense for someone with a stable weight who, despite exercise and diet, cannot get rid of fat from a specific area.
Why do I look larger after the treatment than before it?
During the first two weeks, the swelling is at its most intense and the treated area may seem larger than before the treatment. This is an expected stage of healing, not the effect of liposuction. The contour becomes visible in the following weeks, and the full effect is assessed after about three months.
How much fatty tissue can be removed during a single treatment?
During a single treatment, up to 4 litres of fatty tissue can be removed. This is an upper limit related to the safety of the treatment, not a goal in itself. The doctor determines the scope at the consultation.
When is the full effect of body liposuction visible?
The full effect is assessed after about three months, once the swelling has completely subsided. Before that, the picture is affected by the healing of the areas from which tissue was removed.
Does the result of liposuction last?
Removed fat cells do not regenerate in the same place, but the durability of the result depends on maintaining your body weight. With significant weight gain, the remaining fat cells can enlarge. The treatment therefore makes sense for someone with a stable body weight.
Can the skin sag after liposuction?
The risk applies to cases of a very large accumulation of fatty tissue, where the skin has been stretched for a long time. The doctor assesses this before the treatment and then explains what effect liposuction alone will give, and what requires skin-tightening treatments, for example thermal lifting or laser treatments. With a moderate excess of tissue, the skin usually adapts to the new contour.
When can I return to exercise after the treatment?
For 4 to 6 weeks, you should avoid strenuous exercise, swimming pools and saunas. The doctor sets the timing for returning to activity, depending on the scope of the treatment and how healing progresses.
Does body liposuction hurt?
The treatment is carried out under local anaesthesia, so what you feel during it is limited to the anaesthetic being given. Afterwards, when the anaesthesia wears off, soreness and swelling may appear, and the area can be tender for a few days.
